Tenore spagnolo FRANCISCO VIGNAS (VIÃ'AS) - (Moia, Barcellona 27.03.1863 - Moia 14.07.1933) Si ritiene che Vignas abbia iniziato a studiare con Gonçal Tintorer, presso il Conservatorio di Barcellona. Il 9 febbraio 1888 debutta nel ruolo del titolo in "Lohengrin" al Teatro del Liceu, Barcellona, accanto al famoso soprano Medea Borelli. Tale fu l'impressione che il giovane Vignas destò che il grande tenore Gayarre gli regalò il suo costume di Lohengrin. Canta "Lohengrin" alla Scala di Milano nel 1889 e nel 1891, Cavalleria rusticana (1891), Carmen (1896) e Germania (1904). Canta nelle maggiori città italiane, chiudendo la sua carriera in Italia con "Parsifal" a Pisa nel 1914. Oltre che in Italia la sua carriera si volse principalmente in Spagna, Portogallo. Debutta a Londra quale Turiddu alla prima esecuzione di" Cavalleria rusticana" nella s! tagione del Shaftesbury Theatre il 19 ottobre 1891. Mentre il debutto al Covent Garden avviene il 15 maggio 1893 come Lohengrin al fianco di Nellie Melba. Il 15 luglio 1893 canta con Emma Calvé, Mario Ancona, e con la partecipazione di Mascagni, "Cavalleria rusticana" e "L'amico Fritz" per la regina Vittoria al Castello di Windsor.
